Earth Observing System Data Gateway: Search for and order earth science data products from NASA and affiliated centers
The Land Processes Distributed Active Archive Center (LP DAAC) was established as part of NASA's Earth Observing System (EOS) Data and Information System (EOSDIS) initiative to process, archive, and distribute land-related data collected by EOS sensors, thereby promoting the inter-disciplinary study and understanding of the integrated Earth system. The role of the LP DAAC includes the higher-level processing and distribution of ASTER data, and the distribution of MODIS land products derived from data acquired by the Terra and Aqua satellites.

Global land cover facility / Earth science data interfacte
The Earth Science Data Interface is the GLCF's web application for searching, browsing, and downloading data from our online holdings.
If you are looking for Landsat data, use the Path/Row Search if you know the paths and rows for your area of interest. You can also use the Map Search to browse and query using an interactive map. You must use the Map Search when looking for Landsat Mosaics.
If you are looking for any of our MODIS or AVHRR derived products or other hosted products, use the Product Search. Browse and query these data by supplying parameters through a simple interface. This method is much easier than using the Map Search.

Geo Gratis
GeoGratis is a web and file transfer protocol (ftp) site that distributes geospatial data of Canada. Data is available for download, without charge. Vector mapping data is available in scales ranging from 1:50 000 to 1:30 000 000 in a variety of file formats. Not all vector layers are in all scales. Similarly, several types of full resolution satellite imagery are on-line. Please note that some files are large, therefore plan to download outside Eastern Standard Time peak hours.

Vito, Belgium: the image processing and archiving centre
The image processing and archiving centre, located in Mol, Belgium, processes all data received from the vegetation instrument on board the SPOT4 and SPOT5 satellite, archives the processed data, compiles the image catalogue, and forwards finished products to vegetation users.
This site gives you free access to the vegetation image catalogue and allows you to download sample images of the vegetation instrument. If you are a SPOT registered user, you are able to order online any of the standard vegetation products. You will find here answers to questions on the products and the operational aspects of the vegetation programme.
The site is served by Vito Belgium, with the assistance of the Belgian Science Policy Office.

Unser Übungsmaterial
Satellitenbilder sind umfangreich. Datenverkehr kostet Geld. Die NASA hat damit irgendwie weniger Probleme als wir. Laden Sie unser Material nur, wenn es sich nicht vermeiden läßt. Es ist sowieso viel spannender selber Daten zu jagen, als Fertiges hier zu laden. Wenn unser Volumen ausgeschöpft ist, schalten wir die Downloadmöglichkeiten bis zum nächsten Abrechnungszeitraum unseres Hosts ab. Sponsoren sind willkommen...
Die Links zu den Übungsdateien finden Sie zu Beginn der jeweiligen Übung.
Das komplette Tutorial (ohne Forum) kann später als Offline Version heruntergeladen werden. Dies ist zur Zeit noch nicht implementiert, da sich noch nicht absehen lässt, wann ein zufriedenstellender Umfang erreicht ist. Arbeiten Sie mit daran!
